Inner Forearm Pain? Put Down That Golf Club

Forearm pain that is isolated on the inside of the elbow (near that bony knob) and extends along the inner forearm may be a sign of golfer’s elbow. You don’t have to be an avid golfer to have this kind of forearm pain, but it is common among golfers, hence the name.

Other sports that involve repetitive hand and wrist motion, such as tennis and baseball, can increase the risk for this kind of arm pain. But so can activities such as raking the lawn or using a screwdriver (a lot).

By contrast, the forearm muscle pain of tennis elbow occurs on the outside of the elbow.

Sometimes forearm pain will subside if you rest and apply ice the sore spot, but it’s best to have a specialist evaluate your forearm pain to help you address the cause and avoid making the pain worse.
